Brighton Icons

Creating a set of hand drawn icons that celebrate Brighton’s landmarks.

Brighton Icons hand drawn by Malcolm Trollope-Davis

The Story

I was approached by the Brighton and Hove Tourism Alliance who saw my incredibly detailed hand drawn map of Brighton and wished to use an adapted version of it as a large way finding map installation at the city of Brighton’s main train station in the U.K.

As part of that project, I was asked to design and introduce to the map a set of 20 icons describing the various attractions in and around Brighton. These icon designs have taken off in their own right and are now being used in various locations in and around Brighton.

The next phase is to start creating a range of merchandise featuring some or all of the icon designs.

These icon designs with their relaxed pencil style have become so popular that we now offer a bespoke icon design service to businesses in Brighton featuring them on their own unique bespoke Brighton Map .

Contact me if you’d like your own icon alongside the Royal Pavilion, Palace Pier and other great Brighton landmarks.
